We are seeing increased short selling today as NBEV’s stock price continues to decline.
NBEV short interest is $86 million; 15.68 million share shorted; 28.80% of its float; 26.75% stock borrow fee on existing shorts and 30% to 35% fee on new shorts.
Shorts were down $25 million in mark-to-market losses, -24.04%, in Jan & Feb, but are up $8.6 million, +9.57%, so far in March. Short sellers are getting active recently, but are being hampered by high stock borrow rates. For the short term, while stock borrows are still available, we should continue to see short pressure and price weakness due to more active shorting in NBEV.
